Description: The American Film Festival has taken place in Deauville every year in late summer since 1975. A selection of a hundred or so cinematographic works from the United States is presented to the many film fans who gather there: from big Hollywood productions to independent cinema, from feature films to short films through television.

Screenings at the American Film Festival take place at the International Centre in Deauville, the Lucien Barrière casino and Le Mony cinema. A jury rewards the best productions and honours remarkable figures of American cinema. Events are also organised in the festival village, so visitors can gain a better understanding of American film culture.

Event Name: FRENCH NATIONAL DAY

Instituted in 1880, 14 July is a very popular date that is celebrated all over France.

During the day, a military parade is organised in Paris between the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde, via the Champs-Élysées. Military ceremonies also take place in many towns in the country.

At night, fireworks are launched in most communes, generally accompanied by a dance and concerts. Depending on the place, the festivities may take place on the eve of 14 July or in the evening on the day itself, which enables some people to celebrate the national day twice!
